VRU Directors Conference

This week the Home Office held their summer VRU directors conference in Bristol. The conference had a focus on the new young people’s prevention partnership panels. These are multi-agency panels which will proactively identify vulnerable young people and refer them to a range of support services, emphasising the importance of early intervention and focused early support.

A session led by the new Minister of State for Policing and Crime, Sarah Jones, allowed a valuable opportunity for discussions and questions from the VRUs in attendance.

We found the event to be informative, and it provided an excellent opportunity to network with the national VRU partnerships and the Home Office, giving chance to share best practice and learning.
