New knife bin for Braintree

Last week (Thursday 20 November) as part of Sceptre – the week long national focus on knife crime – the VVU supported the installation of a new knife bin at Braintree Police Station.  The knife bin was a larger replacement for an old bin.

In attendance were Cllr Mary Cunningham for Braintree West and Portfolio holder of Stronger Communities; Chief Inspector Martin Richards, District Commander for Braintree and Uttlesford; James Pearson from the VVU and a member of Braintree Community Safety Team.

The knife bin is part of our continued investment to keep Braintree safe and the new knife bin will support the removal of knives off Essex streets, helping to keep our communities safe and reduce knife crime.
