VVU awarded High Sheriff certificate

It was an honour for the VVU to receive the last High Sheriff certificate from outgoing High Sheriff, Charles Bishop as his term of office ended in April.

The VVU had met with Charles and his wife Nellie earlier in the year and explained to them in detail the work the Unit does to tackle youth violence in our communities.

When Charles was first appointed, he pledged to give his support and encouragement to help make the county a better and safer place, saying “One of the roles of High Sheriff is responsibility for law and order and I want to give recognition and support to groups whose work has a positive impact on crime prevention and community safety.”

We were delighted to receive the certificate in recognition for the work undertaken – through the Violence and Vulnerability Partnership – to support families, young people and communities across our county.
