Here at the VVU we love a celebration, particularly one which marks such a fantastic achievement as a 25th anniversary.
On 1 July, North Avenue Youth Centre in Chelmsford celebrated 25years of supporting the local community and we were delighted to attend the celebrations.
As proud funders of North Avenue Youth Centre, it was a brilliant opportunity to celebrate their success and hear the many transformational stories of those who had been involved in the youth centre over the years.
The evening was well attended, with awards presented to both young people and youth workers. Many of the youth workers attended the centre as young people and their experience was so beneficial and positive, that they have chosen youth work as a career.
As well as the awards, there were opportunities to try out many of the different activities on offer. One of the VVU team did beat the highest score recorded on PAC-MAN, although this was highly contested by all the young people!
