PFCC Partnership Conference
The VVU was pleased to be part of the Essex Police, Fire and Crime Commissioners’ Partnership Conference which took place at the Colchester United JobServe Community Stadium last week.
The conference welcomed speakers who spoke passionately and eloquently on drug and alcohol support and addiction, domestic violence, knife harm, hearing the voice of young people and revenge porn.
The subject of the conference was prevention and the importance of intervening early. A lot of the speakers talked about how intervention and prevention methods such as early support from professionals, the availability of bleed kits, educating young people, and organisations sharing information could not only have helped them as individuals sooner, but could also save people in the future from tragedy and heartbreak.
Delegates had the chance to network, with lots of discussion about collaboration and best practice. Workshops explored themes such as rural crime, violence against women and girls, bystander intervention, water safety and preventing fatal fires.
Immediate feedback was extremely positive with people leaving feeling energised, inspired and full of new ideas.
